The Difference And Application Of Wear-Resistant Composite Steel Plate And Wear-Resistant Steel Plate

There are two kinds of commonly used wear-resistant steel plates, one is wear-resistant composite steel plates, and the other is wear-resistant steel plates for heat treatment.

First, the difference between wear-resistant steel plate and wear-resistant composite steel plate

Composition and hardness: wear-resistant composite steel plate refers to the composite high-alloy wear-resistant layer on the ordinary steel plate by surfacing welding, combining the wear resistance of the wear-resistant layer with the bearing capacity, deformation capacity and weldability of the substrate. The hardness of the wear layer is generally above HRC55. Heat treatment steel plate refers to the low alloy steel plate quenched and hardened during rolling, or the steel plate quenched and hardened after heat treatment of low alloy steel plate, sometimes called tempered steel plate. The general hardness is HB360-600.

Wear-resisting mechanism and wear-resisting performance: The wear-resisting layer of the wear-resisting composite steel plate is composed of high alloy, and a large number of high hardness alloy carbides (about HV1600) are embedded in the matrix of the metallographic structure. Carbides play an important role in wear resistance. The actual microhardness of the wear-resistant layer is much higher than the measured macro-hardness, and its strengthening method is the same as that of cemented carbide. Wear-resistant composite steel plate has high wear resistance, which is 5 to 6 times that of heat-treated wear-resistant steel. Heat treatment steel plate as a whole hardening, all have wear resistance. The metallographic structure is mainly martensite, the overall hardness and strength are greatly improved, and the micro hardness and macro hardness are basically the same.

Temperature adaptability: The wear-resistant layer of the wear-resistant composite steel plate is a high-alloy component, which has the effect of secondary hardening at a certain temperature. Generally, it can work in a high temperature environment below 650 ° C, and can also make high temperature and wear resistant plates that can adapt to higher temperatures. When the heat treated steel plate is used above 250℃, the hardness is gradually lost after annealing, and the wear resistance is greatly reduced. Cutting and welding processes can also lead to a reduction in the hardness of the heat affected zone.

Machinability: The thermal cutting of wear-resistant composite steel plate can generally only be carried out by plasma cutting, and the forming is limited, but it can be cut and processed by manufacturers according to the needs of use. The heat-treated steel plate can be applied to all cutting methods and has good bending and forming performance. In general, the two can be cut, welded, sunk, bent, bolted, flange and other ways can be made into wear-resistant parts.
